The second installment of CAPTAIN AMERICA generated enormous anticipation. The studio was not only under pressure to outperform the original movie, but it also had to live up to the excitement around the introduction of “The Falcon,” Captain America’s trusted sidekick played by Anthony Mackie. With both Anthony Mackie and Samuel Jackson having key roles in the film, the studio knew it had a great opportunity to reach African-Americans, especially men and boys.
The studio hired LIQUID SOUL to develop a targeted publicity and promotional campaign. This campaign successfully highlighted the diversity and excitement of the film and included an Atlanta press day. The press day featured Anthony Mackie and Nate Moore, SVP of Production and Development for Marvel Studios, an influencer screening and an NBA promotional opportunity.
