In 2011, Nike had a premier opportunity to showcase its brand and celebrate the anniversary of the Air Force 1 shoe in New York City at one of the biggest matchups during the NBA season, at one of the league’s newest venues. LIQUID SOUL was engaged to produce the halftime show for the New York Knicks vs. the Brooklyn Nets game at the Barklays center. The challenge was that the Barclays Center is an Adidas venue; therefore branding opportunities were limited within the venue itself.
In order to garner awareness and generate excitement, LIQUID SOUL produced a big stunt during halftime: We took the elements of the HBCU college football halftime show and brought it to the heart of Brooklyn. The result? Well, you’ll just have to watch the video and see for yourself.
